With the nature’s generosity at its best, the small village of Murti, by the side of the rivulet Murti, is a desired winter picnic spot for local residents. Tourists can rest in forest bungalows and enjoy the scenic beauty of the surrounding. Lucky ones can even catch a glimpse of elephants and other animals by the side of Murti River when they come to drink water. Dhupjhora Bit is 4 km from Murti. The tea estates of Duars are almost at a stone’s throw distance.

Kanchankanya Express runs from Sealdah to New Mall Junction four days a week. Murti is 18 km from New Mall Junction.

Darjeeling Mail or Kamrup Express can take you to New Jalpaiguri (NJP) and from there Murti is 75 km.

Taxis are available from the stand adjacent to the station. The taxi fare comes to Rs 750/-. Alternatively, from NJP station riding an auto rickshaw one can come to Duars bus stand of Siliguri. From there Chalsa can be reached by bus. Murti is 15 km from Chalsa. Private cars are available.
