Henry Fisheries Island is only 130 km from Kolkata, very close to Bakkhali. This island is surrounded by mangrove forest and creeks. An initiative of the West Bengal Government Fisheries Department, this island has grown in to a major fishing industry.

From Dharmatala, surface transport buses ply throughout the day. Besides, south Bengal transport service leaves every half hour for Namkhana. From Namkhana cross the Hatania-Doania river by motor boat and from there take the bus to Bakkhali. Disembark at Jettyghat stoppage. From there by van rickshaw at a distance of 1.5 km is the Mangrove Tourist Lodge and 4 km away is the Sundri Lodge. You can arrive directly at the lodge by car.

Mangrove Tourist Lodge
Rent: Five rooms are available that cost Rs. 250/- each. There are two rooms that cost Rs. 300/- each; two rooms costing Rs. 400/- each; two rooms at Rs. 500/- each and two rooms at Rs. 600/- each.

Sundri Lodge,
Rent: One room costs Rs. 800/-; five rooms cost Rs. 600/- each; and five tents are available for Rs. 600/- each.
