Popularly known as the Valley of Flowers, Yumthang in Sikkim is situated at an altitude of about 11,800 ft. and 140 km from Gangtok. The best time to savour its breathtaking beauty is from April to June. During this season the valley is resplendent with vibrant colours of various flora in full bloom like rhododendrons, primulas, poppies, iris, etc.

The nearest airport is Bagdogra in West Bengal which is connected to Gangtok by helicopter service.

You can travel by train up to New Jalpaiguri Station from where hired taxis are available to Gangtok which is about 15-km by road.

The best time to visit is from April to June.

Accommodation is not available at Yumthang Valley. One has to stay at Lachung, which is at a distance of 24 Km from the valley where hotels and tourist lodges are available.
