ABOUT THE PLACE

Situated on the banks of the Barak River known as the Barak Valley and surrounded by the Barail Hills on the north, Mizo Hills on the south, Manipur on the East and Bangladesh on the West, Silchar is the nerve centre of the Barak Valley. The river Barak flows on the eastern side of the town. Its markets, tea gardens, temples, paddy fields, blue hills, Badarpur fort and the river Barak all together make Silchar a memorable tourist spot.
