ABOUT THE PLACE
Ganapatipule on the 37 km south of Mumbai has endless stretches of golden beach, clear blue waters, rows of swaying palms and cool breeze. Ganpatipule can be Maharastra’s challenge to Goa.
The Sundar Temple is at a stone’s throw distance form the beach. It enshrines Lord Gansesha.
[+] HOW TO REACH
Galnapatipule lies on the Mumbai-Goa Highway. It is 400 km from Mumbai. One MSRTC heads daily to Ganapatipule from Mumbai. It leaves from Mumbai Central bus stand in the morning and bus comes back to Mumbai in the evening. Alternatively, one can reach Ratnagiri by Konkan railway and hire a car from there to Ganapatipule. It is a one hour journey.

The ruin of a 17th century fort called Jaigarh is 20 km from here.
Ratnagiri is a journey of one hour. The Thibs Palace is worth visiting. On the way to the palace, also known as Kila, do visit the birth place of Lokmanya Tilak, the legendary Indian nationalist.
