BHRAMAN, Eastern India’s No.1 travel magazine published from Kolkata every month, has revolutionized the way people look at travel today.  Founded in 1993,BHRAMAN has been highly acclaimed by readers.  The magazine presents interesting features, embellished with spectacular photographs on exotic places in India and abroad.

Specialized in travel and tourism, BHRAMAN enjoys an enviable readership of over 2,75,000, as revealed from the National Readership Survey.  Be it adventure tourism, education tourism, eco tourism, business tourism or simply pleasure tourism within India or abroad, BHRAMAN provides insights into all.  Readers often compile the magazine’s back issues and keep them for future reference.  Undoubtedly, BHRAMAN has found its pride of place as a collector’s item.

Spun off from the expertise of BHRAMAN, the house ventured into the electronic medium in 2002, with a weekly television program Bhraman Far and Near on travel followed by a Daily television programs – Travel Diary and Let’s see The World in both national and private channels.  These television programs fetched BHRAMAN immediate recognition in the world of travel videos.  Treading beyond the boundaries of television, BHRAMAN entered the arena of travel vcds & dvds.  The travel CDs, now popularly known as Bhraman vcds, became hot sellers in the market within a short period and now has over 35 titles to its credit.

BHRAMAN has always tried to bring the distant land to its readers and open up new travel possibilities for them.  In this pursuit, in November 2004 Amarendra Chakravorty, Chief Editor of BHRAMAN accompanied by only one assistant,  Sarbani Chakravorty, went to Antarctica and brought back priceless footage from which an hour long travel film Antarctica was produced which has already sold over 10,000 copies in West Bengal.   The escapades did not stop here, but rather became an inspiration for Amarendra Chakravorty to move ahead and produce films, mostly single-handedly, on destinations like Alaska, Africa, North Cape, Mongolia, China, Myanmar, Nepal, Cambodia, North Thailand, Russia, Romania, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc.  He also directed a dozen travel films on, a dreamland for all, India.

Not only the magazine, travel books published from the house of BHRAMAN have also gained immense popularity.

www.bhraman.com has been a step towards the web media and proved to be a popular travel website among the serious travelers from India and overseas.  We hope to take it to greater heights in days to come.

The driving force behind BHRAMAN, Amarendra Chakravorty is a poet, litterateur, travel writer, photographer and journalist.  Launching the monthly travel magazine BHRAMAN in 1993, Chakravorty, as Editor and Travel Writer, broke new ground in Bengali literature.  An author of a number of award winning books, Amarendra Chakravorty is the Chief Editor and Publisher of Swarnakshar Prakasani Private Limited, a Kolkata based publishing house and owners of BHRAMAN and other publications.
