Fort Aguada
A 17th
century Portuguese built fort guards at the mouth of the Mandovi
river. The ruins of the moat serve as a wonderful viewpoint of the
land and sea. Tucked cosily below the fort is Sinquerim beach--
a lonely, lovely stretch of golden sand, fringed by swaying palms.
Upmarket hoteliers have parceled out the picturesque locale among
themselves; an excellent hideout for a luxurious but quiet holiday.
The nearby Candolim Beach is also free from crowds.
