Bhagsu
Bhagsu, a nondescript
village tucked inside the Himachal Himalayas, is full of natural
charm. Only 2 kilometres away is McLeodganj, overrun by Tibetan
refugees and western visitors who began to come here in large numbers
after Dalai Lama, the exiled Tibetan religious leader made McLeodganj
his home. Yet somehow Bhagsu has been able to remain sequestered.
Take some very refreshing walks along the forested trails, picnic
by the mountain springs or spend some meditative hours at the small,
16th century Shiva temple.
